Homeless Outreach
DDI’s Homeless Outreach philosophy (relate and refer) and strategy have successfully impacted the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness through meaningful engagements and referrals. DDI remains committed to implementing strategic and innovative approaches to street outreach, in combination with supporting the homeless solutions community in their efforts to end homelessness.
PROGRAMS INCLUDE
Homeward Bound
DDI helps reunite persons experiencing homelessness with family or support systems by purchasing a bus ticket.
The Fellowship Program
A one-year program that adds an individual transitioning from homelessness to our homeless outreach team. This fellow position allows individuals to share their stories through outreach and develop critical job skills needed for permanent employment.
Dallas PD Partnership
A uniformed Dallas PD Officer, assigned to the DDI Outreach Team and proactively engages individuals experiencing homelessness.

Giving money to panhandlers can have unintended consequences like discouraging individuals from accepting services from a vast network of local providers. You can help by contacting a local provider below to learn how you and your dollars can ensure compassionate giving supports ending homelessness for individuals.

Help Feed
Street feeding programs without comprehensive services are lost opportunities to connect individuals to programs. Street feeding groups are encouraged to collaborate with existing comprehensive service programs. Last holiday season, we collected over 14,000lbs of debris from street feeding events.
If you are interested in feeding those experiencing homelessness, please contact the Bridge Homeless Recovery Center's volunteer team to discuss collaboration opportunities. Help House
The Dallas Real-Time Rapid Rehousing (DRTRR) initiative has a goal to house over 2,700 homeless individuals by October 2023. The strategy entails combining federal funds, housing vouchers from the American Rescue Plan Act, and private donations to place individuals into housing successfully. The initiative also includes wrap-around services that support the individual.
As part of the DRTRR, Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance's (MDHA), the "We Come Home Campaign" ensures that each person is housed in a fully furnished home by providing move-in kits.
