In a moving ceremony on September 30, a tree was planted in honor of veterans on the lawn of the A.C. Maceo Smith federal building at Young and Griffin in Downtown Dallas.
The city of Dallas provided the tree, DOWNTOWNDALLAS paid for the planting and the Department of Labor and the General Services Administration arranged for the ceremony.
Expressions by Susan assisted with the planting and landscaping. Michael Anderson of Chavez Properties and a member of the DOWNTOWNDALLAS Maintenance Committee provided overall coordination.
Department of Labor officials from the local regional office and the national office in Washington, D.C. spoke.
